Melville Millionaires vs Yorkton Cardinals (GAME ONE) |  5 – 6

In game one of the days double-header, the Yorkton Cardinals picked up their fourth win of the season defeating the Melville Millionaires 6-5.

Right-handed pitcher, Jake Anderson was the starter for the Cardinals, tossing a complete game while striking out seven Melville batters.

Having a terrific day at the plate was Yorkton catcher, Matthew Korman who went 2-3 with a HBP, a double, two runs scored and an RBI.

Yorkton Cardinals vs Melville Millionaires (GAME TWO) |  2 – 10

With game one completed in Yorkton, game two was set to be played in Melville, just 30 minutes down the road. The Millionaires put up 10 runs, earning their 14th victory of the season as they downed the Cardinals 10-2. Both teams sit out of the playoff picture with Melville holding a record of 14-25 and Yorkton sitting at 4-34 for the season.

Chris Paruleski received the start for the Millionaires as he threw seven innings for the win, earning seven strikeouts to his part. Chris Lacher came in relief to toss the final two innings of work, not allowing a hit and striking out one.

Millionaires outfielder, Evan Moore reached base four times in his teams victory, finishing the ballgame 3-3 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored. Moore’s teammate, Sam Cassel drove in two runs and scored three himself as he went 3-4 with three stolen bases.

Regina Red Sox vs Swift Current 57’s |  1 – 10

The Swift Current 57’s downed the first place Regina Red Sox 10-1, bringing them within only two games of top spot in the WCBL’s East Division.

Brandon O’Neil was the 57’s starter as he tossed seven innings, striking out four, earning the win for his club. Isiah Campa came in relief of O’Neil to throw the final two innings of work, where he struck out three Red Sox batters.

Swift Current first baseman, Ryan Magdic went 2-4 in the ballgame with a double, two runs scored and two RBI’s. The designated hitter for the victorious 57’s, Luis Navarro drove in three RBI’s as he finished 1-2 with a walk and a sac fly.

Lethbridge Bulls vs Moose Jaw Miller Express |  9 – 10

The Moose Jaw Miller Express came from being down 9-5 in the eighth inning to eventually walk-off the Lethbridge Bulls 10-9 after a walk-off single from Eric Marriott. The victory brings Moose Jaws record up to 20-18 as the Bulls fall to 21-19 and now only lead the third place Giants by half a game.

Michael Borst was the starter for the Miller Express, tossing seven innings of work, allowing 12 hits and seven earned runs, before Jaden Hoffman came in relief to toss 1 2/3 innings, allowing only one hit while striking out two. Jack Gamba earned the “win” after throwing the final 1/3 of the ninth inning.

Moose Jaw designated hitter, Cole Warken was all over Lethbridge pitching today as he 3-5 with two RBI’s and three runs scored in the win.

Fort McMurray Giants vs Weyburn Beavers |  4 – 5

The Weyburn Beavers got back in the win column as the dropped the Fort McMurray Giants 5-4. Weyburn now only sits behind the Regina Red Sox by one game for first in the WCBL’s East Division with a record of 24-12.

The Beavers sent Jacob Standridge to the mound to start things off for their club as he tossed the first six innings, striking out six Giants batters. Seth Pig came in relief, tossing 1/3 of an inning before Pearce Wilhelm entered to toss 1 2/3. Connor White earned the “win” after tossing one inning, allowing no hits and striking out one.

Beavers first baseman, Drake Pilat went 2-3 in the ballgame with a walk, an RBI and a run scored.

Okotoks Dawgs vs Medicine Hat Mavericks |  9 – 8

In a game that lasted 17-innings and almost seven hours, the Okotoks Dawgs defeated the Medicine Hat Mavericks 9-8. The two teams put up 41 hits in the ballgame and only one error as the Dawgs now hold a record of 28-10 after the victory and drive their lead up in the WCBL’s West Division by eight games.

Eight different Okotoks pitchers took to the mound today, but it was Shay Shanaman earning the “win” after tossing two innings of work while striking out three. Nolan Ruff was the starter for the Dawgs, throwing 6 1/3 innings, allowing 10 hits and four earned runs.

Dawgs infielder, Jaxon Valcke reached base four times in the victory, going 3-7 with a walk, a sac fly and two RBI’s.
